You might have came across the popular Territory Glitch in San Andreas, a glitch or something of a hidden feature that enables gang wars in every single zone on the map.
Nationwide Gang Wars brings that feature back in a completely native way without causing any form of glitch or bug on the contrary to the original feature.
Before being a feature, Nationwide Gang Wars is actually a fix, as it paints the whole map gang-occupied, since every land in the world has an owner.
- Fixing the lack of gang members in some occupied territories, allowing the player to take the hoods easier and not hustle for gang members to appear
- Fixing Extended Gang War's out-of-state occupied gangs in San Fierro before being allowed to visit other states
- Fixing the lack of gang zones in Las Venturas, not having any occupied territories
- Fixing the gang color of the mexican Aztecas gang from blue to cyan and differentiating the ese gangs by dedicating blue to the hispanic Rifa gang
- A territory reduction for Grove St. and Aztecas after The Green Sabre mission rather than losing all hoods
- Restoring the gangs of Bikers and Russian Mafia and completing the Mob gang (whites)
This script has been designed in a manner that naturally makes sense with the game, the story and the initial idea of gang wars.
- Gang wars will become active after completing the Doberman (All-terrain take down) mission
The Mob now own where they own in real life in San Andreas, adding the missing White gangs to Los Santos
Since being allowed to play only within Los Santos at this time, other cities are not gang occupied until CJ learns more about the state
Ocean Docks is now owned by Russian Mafia
- Gang wars will become deactivated after The Green Sabre mission and will come back online once CJ reaches San Fierro
Grove Street will no longer lose all Grove turfs but get shrank, rather than losing all influence (Same for Aztecas)
Since being allowed to play within Los Santos, Country side and San Fierro, the rest of the map will feature gangs in main regions
The zones are occupied based on information from the beta edition of the game and our own research of the variety and the real census information of the country
Some country regions will feature the unused Bikers gangs and Ocean Docks will feature Russian Mafia
Angel Pine will now feature the mexican Aztecas gang, since Cesar mentions how he has family there
Important Las Venturas regions will feature the Mafia gang
- Gang wars will get extended nation-wide after completing the game
Bringing back the Territory Glitch in a native way, with correct gangs in each regions instead of only Ballas and Vagos as observed with the original territory glitch
A new set of turfs with changes applies that makes since with the story are added, such as Verdant Meadows being Grove Street land, Ballas and Vagos extending to other cities, etc
The rest of the unoccupied regions will now feature White gangs (Mafia, Bikers and Russians), since this country is a white colony
The density of White gangs are not realistic to real life, since even with owning the country as a colony the density is very low. This has been implemented in this way to make the initial gang war trigger to get triggered easier as well as increasing the fun of gang wars
Additionally you must take over 35% of the zones in order to unlock the last few mission, which is why nationwide gang wars will become active after game completion
(Otherwise 35% territory control would require a few tens of hours of gameplay between Los Desperados and End of the Line, killing the momentum of the story missions)
You can no longer take the Varrio Los Azteca's turfs after game completion, due to new relationships formed between the two gangs
There are 44 Ballas turfs, 17 Vagos turfs, 6 Rifa turfs, 4 Da Nang turfs, 259 Mafia turfs, 6 Triad turfs, 5 Aztecas turfs, 8 Russians turfs and 6 Bikers turfs, and a total of 355 turf zones.
Please note that your territory control will get a reset after the mentioned missions (3 times), and after coming back to Los Santos (A Home in the Hills).
Additionally we have included a version of the main script in which gang wars will not reset after reaching San Fierro until the end, as well as reducing the required territory control from 35% to 10%, which is somewhat of the original 35% control of the original game.
This edited main script is most likely compatible with older clean saves. (haven't tested)
Changes have been applied to both original main script and Ryder Doesn't Betray mod. (haven't tested)

Please note that activating gang wars before the Doberman mission will most likely cause problems for your saves and the story playthrough.
The science and the logic behind which city has which gangs has been based on the original research done by original SA developers and additionally based on politics and reality.
We trusted how real-life Los Santos residences decided which zones would have which gangs as well as relying on information from the beta edition, however we based the rest of the cities on the real state of the country in real life.
